The Obama Economic Plan, from the Horse’s Mouth

This might as well come from Obama himself. The key is job creation. So many jobs have been, or will be, lost due to the economic downturn (a recession or a depression?), that the real key to growth (or keeping our collective heads above the Katrina floodwaters) will be creating jobs.

And the way to create jobs? Government investment!

If businesses won’t invest in the economy, government has to. It’s simple Keynesian economic policy. Nothing really has changed over the past 78 years!

The Obama plan represents not new public works but, rather, investments that will work for the American public. Investments to build the classrooms, laboratories and libraries our children need to meet 21st-century educational challenges.
